I have really enjoyed scrapping with lots of white space lately. Not sure what it is but I get on these kicks sometimes of what style of layouts I'm attracted to. I go back and forth, most recently, with bright colors are dark backgrounds, lots of white space or distressed edges. Isn't scrapbooking so much fun??
This is a layout using the latest sketch at Sketchy Thursdays. I sure am enjoying those sketches. It also was inspired by a challenge at Two Peas - to use a color photo on a black and white background. The photo is of a floral arrangement that I just loved at a friends wedding. The colors are beautiful and those flowers are gorgeous. I was a little unsure of just using black and white on the layout but I like how the colors pop! Of course, it pops even better in real life. Photos just never do layouts justice!
Materials: Patterned Paper - Kaisercraft
Sticker - 7 Gypsies
Chipboard Letters - Scenic Route
Letter Stickers - Doodlebug
Brad - SEI
Button - American Crafts
Black paint - Making Memories (look closely and you can see the splatters!)
Ribbon and bling - stash
A couple of technique notes - I used a toothbrush to make the splatters of paint. Just dipped it into the paint and used my finger to splat. And I used pop dots on the photo and PP next to it. Love the dimension it adds but it also helped so that the paper and photo weren't wrinkled over the lumps of ribbon.
