Year in Cards

Kristina Werner is a card genius!  At Two Peas, she has been facilitating a free class called Year in Cards.  Each month she has a video class showcasing three cards using various techniques and sentiments.  For the month of October, her three card designs were absolutely LUSCIOUS!  The sentiment was supposed to be gratitude and using fall colors but I decided to be a rebel and do some Christmas goodness.

Aren't they adorable??

I used my latest favorite Christmas line, Colorful Christmas by MME.  I'm typically a traditional red and green girl but this line just drips with cuteness!  I really enjoy Kristina's use of space on cards and all the little details she has us try like the scallop in the back and that faux stitching.  I used rub-ons by Kaisercraft.

This design was my absolute fave!  She has us emboss on vellum.  I've never done that before!  My other fun technique Kristina does is all the pen stitching.  I had to go buy myself a white signo gel pen so I could join in on the faux stitching fun!  That stamp on the vellum is from Fiskars.

And look at this cutey patootey!  I added the patterned paper strip on top but only because those white dots looked better above a contrasting paper.  Kristina had used some brown color paper and Indian Summer paper by Basic Grey so her dots looked beautified!  But I think mine looks pretty dang cute too!

All of my sentiments were printed on the computer using various fonts.  I don't recollect where they all were form.  Whether you are a card maker or not, you must check out Kristina's blog!  I'm addicted to her Finally Friday videos and have gotten much of my inspiration from her.  Kristina, if you ever happen upon this lil ole blog of mine... let me tell you... YOU ROCK!!!!  ;)

Thanks for swinging by!
