A hello and a couple of reveals!

So my goal for this year was to attempt a blog post at least every other day.  I think I've done alright!  This past week, however, I had an unwelcome visitor.. the stomach flu.  Oh man.  It's been going around the school and I was praying that it would just zoom past me and miss me but alas...  Thankfully, it's a quick one.  But it put out for about a day and a half and the recovery is little much too.  My poor tummy.  But I had my first actual meal yesterday and my stomach didn't object which is a good thing.  I also seem to have enough energy to put together a blog post that makes sense with almost proper grammar and punctuation to boot!

For my bathroom overhaul I'm going with the top shower curtain in my previous post.  I just love those brown and blue colors together.  Can't wait!  I'll make sure to take photos when it's finished.  Just have to warn you it won't be totally amazing or anything but I like to share! :)

Alright, ready for a couple of layouts?  The first one is for the My Lifetime Story challenge at Faith Sisters.  This past week our layout was to do be about our parents:

I decided to let this layout focus more on the journaling.  I hope that if you click on the image, the photo will be large enough to read the journaling.  If not, someone let me know in the comments and I'll fix it.  I wanted to go with this photo of my parents because I like it.  That is all.  They are standing with my grandparents from my dads side.  There is another reason I chose it but I'll communicate that in my next layout which will be... oops... I almost let it out!  Guess you'll just have to wait. ;)
Elements and background paper are all from Shabby Princess.  Font is Register Sans.

Ready for another layout??  The January 29 sketch reveal is up at Sketchabilities.  You can go there to see the sketch but here is my take:

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. I LOVE Karan's sketches.  She uses a lot of layering which is something I really enjoy.  And her sketches are very "negative space" friendly.  You'll be seeing a lot of layouts with these photos.  They are from a photo shoot my roomies did with Kaari's (middle gal) sister.  We had so much fun.  And I'm such a ham... where there is a camera, there will be my goofy face!
Patterned Paper - Scenic Route
Cardstock - Paper Accents
Buttons - Foofala
Bling - Kaisercraft
Sticker strip - 7 Gypsies
Letter stickers - American Crafts and Doodlebug
Flower - Prima
Die cut machine - Silhouette SD

One last note... All About Me is having an online crop in mid-February to raise funds for either the Red Cross or World Vision to do our part in helping Haiti.  It's just a small thing but we know that whatever amount we can raise will go towards helping these people... even a month later.  The crop will include challenges and several classes by the DT of AAM.  It will be lots of fun and you may even get to win a prize or two.  More info to come as far as cost and such.  We're thinking around the $10 mark because we'd love to have lots of participants! :)

Thanks for swinging by!
