Party like it's 1977??

Well I'm a little late for this but...

The current challenge is up at All About Me and we are challenging you to create a layout based the prompt "The Year I Was Born".  What a FUN layout to scrap, right??  I love history and I especially enjoy learning what was going on in the word the year I was born.  I used one of my favorite baby photos of me for this layout.  Also scraplifted a layout that was in the February 2010 CK.  I apologize, I still don't have my computer and I'm not at home to reference the page or the designer from CK.  I'll do that as soon as I possibly can because I can't take credit for the design. :)

{Materials} PP - Basic Gray, Letters - Dymo labeler and AC (Thickers), tag - Creative Cafe, chipboard heart - Scenic Route, button - Bo Bunny

{Journaling} In 1977 the average monthly rent was $240, cost of gas was 64 cents, Jimmy Carter was president and the World Trade Center was completed.  Star Wars, Saturday Night Fever, King Kong and Rocky ruled the box office and it was the year Elvis died. What a year!

Come join us at AAM!  Have fun documenting when you were born.  Boy... can't even believe how cheap gas was.  Then again, you know the average income wasn't very high either.

Keep praying for my comp.  I need a new battery.  Haven't had it officially tested yet but my computer friend and lots of websites say that's my problem.  I'll still get it tested but pretty sure that's what it is.  I don't really care right now because I miss my computer!!!  Even though I backed up everything, it's still not the same on someone elses comp.

hugs,
Melissa
