Spring has sprung....

in my area and also on my blog!  I love Spring!  I love the smells, the colors, the new life...  all of it.  Well, all of it except the allergies anyway!  It was so nice this weekend to create a couple of layouts that were for FUN.  Of course, all the layouts and cards I make are fun but sometimes it's nice to create something without a deadline looming over me.  You know??  I got some fun new product this last week and got to play with them too!  Yay!

Sofia Layout

{Story}  I lived in Guatemala for one year teaching at a Missionary Kids school.  It was a privilege to teach art and music to a fabulous group of elementary through high school students and I would do it again in a heart beat!  During my time down there I got to visit a couple of orphanages.  One of them was run by the family of one of the students at the school I taught at.  I spent a week there loving on the babies.  Oh... it was the best.  I wanted to adopt all of them!  This little girl, Sofia, in particular stole my heart.  There is nothing like walking into a room and watching the face of a sweet little baby light up!

{Materials}
Kraft CS - Bazzill Basics
Patterned Paper - Pink Paislee (365 Degrees line)
Chipboard letters - American Crafts
Buttons - Creative Cafe
Bling - Kaisercraft
Ribbon - Offray
Flower - Stash
Signo white gel pen
Tools - Fiskars scallop punch and Silhouette SD

One of my best friends Layout

{Story}  I am blessed to have several dear friends that get me.  These gals I feel free to be myself.. messiness and all!  Even in my most goofiest and immature moments... They happen more than you might think! hehe..
This dear friend, Holly, has been one that I've held closely the past couple of years.  We've had our ups and downs and I feel like we continue to become closer friends.  We share so many similarities too!  Some popular vocabulary you may here us say:  PINK, GLITTER, music, travel, Spanish, boys.... ha!  I love this girl so much and it seemed fitting to dedicate a layout with us in it!
