Happy Birthday America!

I love this country I live in and am so thankful for our founding fathers who put in the blood, sweat, tears and passion to establish a land that stood for freedom and big dreams.  Even in the midst of a crazy season that our country is currently in, I think the bottom line is we are all proud to be American and are ready to defend the rest of our American family! :)

I thought I would share a oldie card:

I still love the simplicity of this card!  It was one of my first cards that I was willing to share with the public (made about six years ago) and even now... it's timeless!  Sometimes you don't need all that heavy embellishment to make a card stand out.  Would you believe I still haven't given it to anyone?  It will probably be on its way to OWH soon.

I wanted to share a couple of other cards with you that were in the June issue of Scrapstreet.

Supplies: Paper: Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Flowers: Kaisercraft, Brad: Making Memories. Tools: Stamps: Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker, Electronic Cutter: Silhouette SD, Punch: Fiskars.

This is my final project for the Showroom using the Nikki Sivils line Flaming Butterfly.  I had that black scroll that I cut with my Silhouette lying around forever just waiting to be used.  I was pretty excited about the sweet touch it added to this card!

Supplies: Paper: My Mind's Eye, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Flowers: BoBunny Press, Prima Marketing, Ribbon: Offray, Bling: Kaisercraft, Brads: Making Memories, Ink: Versafine (Tsukineko). Tools: Stamp: Inkadinkado.

As you know, I am huge fan of white space.  I admire those that can work with a lot of patterns but whenever I try it's a huge mess and I think it's because my creative brain goes into overload.  So I like minimal.  Simple.  With a touch of bold.  This card design is a favorite of mine.  I love putting the plain cardstock over the patterned paper and on this card - I love the colors and I'm pretty happy with my bow.  I'm bow challenged! ;)

Before I leave... on my post yesterday I might have said something about a chance to win a kit from SFTIO.  Well, that can still happen but the opportunity won't present itself until a little later in the week.  Yay!!

Hugs,
Melissa

Yes, I love the simplicity of your little flag with the torn papers.
