Happy Birthday AAM Blog Hop!!!

Hi everyone!

I am so happy to have you join us on this most fabulous Blog Hop!  We are celebrating All About Me's first year of existence!  I still can't believe an entire year has gone by and we are still going strong!  If you are just beginning on my blog, go start at the beginning here.  I don't want you to miss the rest of what the DT is offering on their blog!

When I first created this challenge blog, it was out of selfishness.  I needed a place in the scrapbooking world to provide me prompts and inspiration in creating my "about me" layouts.  At the time, there wasn't any other place (that was free).  No blogs.  Nada.  So what did I do?  I made one.  I did a Design Team Call.  Half expecting it all to bomb.  Half expecting something to happen.  But not expecting any of what has transpired.  Needless to say - I am blessed!

I thought I would share my first layout that coincided with the very first challenge given at AAM.

This was for a Pre-DT challenge and to scrap what you wish for.  I remember being inspired by the 7 Gypsies stickers and let them do the journaling for me.  I love this layout so much!  It's hanging on my wall. :)

Now for our Blog Hop, I get to share with you my favorite birthday memory.  It's an easy one.  It was my 30th.  I loved turning 30 and I enjoyed that entire year.  I felt like I had "made it" in life.  No longer in college, working a career, not a child anymore but not old either.  Saying you are "30" just sounds so prestigious to me. It was a fantastic birthday too!  The day began early (8:00 a.m.) with a massage, pedicure and manicure at this place.  Then, went out to lunch at this place with a great friend.  After that, I had my hair cut and styled.  Went home, got gussied up and had a fab dinner at my favorite restaurant, Kyoto Steakhouse, with some of my closest friends.  After dinner, we headed over to a friends house for cake and fun.  THEN... a few of us were still not ready to end the night so we went to our favorite martini bar.

It was the best birthday ever!  And I still enjoy the memories it holds!

Alright.... you should know by now we have a fun phrase for you!  Each team member has a word for you to gather.  Here is mine:

When you get the whole phrase, you will need to PM it to me (Melissa) on the AAM Forum!  You'll get directed there at the end of the hop.

NOW.. what you need to do... is to get over to the fabulous Rani's blog!  LOVE her!!!

Hey and have fun hopping!

OH!!!!!  ONE MORE THING... teehee... would you like another opportunity to win something?  Would ya? huh, huh??  Leave me a comment... tell me anything.. tell me about your day... your birthday... your nail polish... your hair... and I'll draw one lucky winner to get a $10 gift certificate to A Cherry On Top.  Yeah that's right!  Why there?? Because you can get some luscious SRM Stickers there in addition to so many other great scrapbooking supplies.

Okay.. now get the heck out of here and visit Rani!

hugs,
Melissa

Thanks for sharing your fabulous layout and story of your birthday. I on the other hand hated turning 30 last year. I work at a university surrounded by mostly freshmen and sophomores who are 18-20 and to them 30 is ancient... I actually cried the whole morning. Of course now I am use to it but I still cringe a touch if I have to tell a student how old I am :)

I love how you see 30 as you've made it. I've just turned 30 & I'm not sure what to make of it yet.

Super cute layout, love the colors!

You mentioned nail polish, so I'll tell you that I have a pretty cherry red polish on my toes :)

Did you say something about nail polish? I painted my toes red two weeks ago before going to the beach.. but my fingers are not painted!

I love the way you did your journaling! And, since my dad never let me paint my nails when I was young, my nail polish is clear. Boring =P

Congrats on 1 year for AAM! I totally get what you mean about your 30th. Mine was much the same - the whole year before and after were so monumental for me i'll never forget it all!!! I topped it all off with a visit to Paris, London & Dublin!!!

I love the AAM challenge. I haven't actually made any layouts in time for the challenge, but I have kept a list and do them when the mood strikes me.

I'm single, live alone, no kids, etc., and I feel that the AAM prompts are kind of a personal history for me. It will tell future generations things that no one else knows. Love that idea!

Blessings,
Christine

what a great birthday that must've been...for my 40th, my sisters and mom took me out to my fave restaurant, gave me diamond earrings (my birthstone) and added an afghan with a picture of the three of us sisters. Love those girls!!
