New Friends

I really enjoy meeting new people.  I just love people.  I love hearing about their stories and getting to know their personalities.  People intrigue me and I just get a kick out of making new friends!  When I went to Chicago for CHA, some people thought I was taking a risk.  I heard questions like, "who are you staying with?"  "Do you have friends there?" "How did you meet her?"  "You've never met them??"
Noone was ever worried about my trip but they certainly thought it strange for me to go and stay with ladies I had never met in person before.  Thankfully, I've got a pretty strong discernment gene.  I can tell if people are sketch pretty quickly.  But I knew these ladies were not sketch... well... not in an illegal way.  I mean... there were some strange things that happened along the way but you know... it just made me like them even more!

I remember getting off the plane in Chicago and, immediately, the adrenaline began pumping.  It's an adrenaline I know way too well... "I'm going to meet new friends... I'm going to meet new friends... people... people... people!!!!!!!!!!"  As I was walking through the airport I started thinking, "What if they think I talk to much?"  "What if I'm too loud?"  "What if they don't like me!! Waaaaaaah!!!"  "They WILL like me... I will make them!!!!"

And guess what?  They like me!!!!!!  Dora, Bri, Diana, Janice, Stacey, Terry, Heather and Pamela!  My newest sisters.  My ScrapStreet Sisters!  As much of a hoot everyone was online, they were even BETTER face to face.  We had so much fun!  I'm so happy to have some more new friends that will definitely be a part of my life for a very long time.  Ones that I can squeal about scrapbooking to and giggle with!  I'm looking forward to my once a year reunion with them now.  Here is a layout with a few photos.  This isn't all the ladies but a few:

Supplies:  Paper, tickets:  My Minds Eye, Cardstock, Brads: American Crafts, Alphabet: Pink Paislee, Alphabet stickers: Cosmo Cricket, Stickers: Jenni Bowlin, Cosmo Cricket, Flowers: Petaloo, Bling: Kaisercraft, Buttons: Jenni Bowlin

90% of this layout came from a special box I received in the mail the other day!  It was from AAM's September Sponsor!  I'm not going to tell you who it is yet either. ;)  I had so much fun playing with the color palette of what was in my box and I can't wait to make more!
