I am so excited to be taking this class from Shimelle! I've always wanted to take one of her classes but just never did. No reason other than I just didn't do it. But this time, something kind of shoved me to the "pay" button. And I don't regret it! After reading through what previous classes were like, I can't WAIT to get started. The class begins on September 1 so if you haven't signed up yet or just want to check it out you still have time!
For those taking the class - I'm going the mini-book route. Lots of mixed media, lots of paint and glitter and lots of mess! I finished my cover tonight which has corrugated chipboard, gesso, paint and glitter. So me and so FUN!
Inside will be accordion style pages that are adhered together to create pockets. There will be enough pockets for each week in September. I'll record my "learnings" on tags which will stick out of the pockets. I covered the corrugated board with gesso first because I wanted the blue paint to be bright like the blue on the papers. That journal card is from Websters Pages. After adding the title and adhering to the chipboard I added a ton of Shimmer Spray from Tsukineko and poured lots of Sugar Coating from Doodlebug! YUM!!!! Prima flowers, bling from my stash and some Tiny Type Alpha from Cosmo Cricket. LOVE!!
One of my favorite creative experiences is when I get paint and gesso all over my hands and in my fingernails. Thumbs up to that indeed.
Each Friday I will try to share my tags and the progress of my mini!
