A few of my favorite things...

This weekend is Labor Day in the U.S. and on TV I noticed that a station is playing my all time favorite movie, The Sound of Music. Seriously. I could watch this movie all day long and never get tired of it. In fact, I have been known to watch it more than once in a day and a few times in one week. I would love to meet Julie Andrews someday! She seems like such a hoot to be around!

A few of MY favorite things that are scrappy include Lily Bee Design papers (oh boy... my heart seriously does a little flutter), SRM Stickers and my Silhouette. With these three things, The Sound of Music on in the background and a good iced mocha... what more could a girl ask for??????

Supplies:  Paper: Lily Bee Design, Cardstock: The Paper Company, Flower: Doodlebug, Ribbon: Offray, Sticker: SRM Stickers, Tools: Silhouette SD

*Sigh*  That card is such happiness.  All my faves.  This was created for the August Showroom for Lily Bee.
I'm noticing something about my scrapbooking style lately.  I love to combine as much pattern and color as possible.  Someone pointed this out to me and I have to agree.  I love color!  I love texture!  And I love to put as much as "unoverwhelmingly" possible into my projects.  Sometimes I go the simple route but when I want to pile it on... I do!  I think this is what draws me to Lily Bee papers so much because there is so much pattern and color going on but they go together so great!  The papers in that card are different but work perfectly together.

To my friends in the U.S.  - hope you are having a fab three day weekend!  To everyone else - enjoy the day!!

hugs,
Melissa

Yes, what a great movie! It's forty five years since my Dad took me to see The Sound of Music for the first time, and I must have seen it at least a hundred times. That's 890 times less than Myra Franklin, a lady from Wales, who holds the world record. I love the movie so much that I've even written a website, although my husband and kids think I'm nuts!
