The rejects...

Okay.  I'm going to have a moment to be real.  After the latest calls for mags went out and I didn't see any happy emails for the third month in a row, I began to have a pity party.  Then I read my friend Bri's post on her blog.  I'm so glad I'm not alone!  It's easy to think we are when we feel rejected.  Her post reminded me that it shouldn't be about being accepted for pubs or not.  If YOU love your work, then it's AMAZING work!  And that's how it always should be.

So here are the rejects awesome cards that I LOVE.  I was super happy with the way they turned out.  I even tried a couple of new tricks that I'll tell you about.

Supplies: Cardstock: The Paper Company, Patterned Paper, chipboard: Cosmo Cricket, Floss: DMC (Chartreuse, Dusty Rose), Pen: Uniball Signo

For this card I had some fun with my floss.  I love blocked grid designs but I don't do them very often.  This time I thought how fun to use up some of that floss to create the quilted/blocked grid look.  Adds a little interest don't you think?  I am seriously loving the Pixie-licious line from Cosmo.  The colors all together make me want to get all cozy with a cute, pink, snuggly blanky and a good chick flick.

Typically, I like to use a stamp or even the new We've Got Your Sticker sentiments from SRM, but thought I'd just hand-write the sentiment.  I usually doodle on a scratch piece of paper first.  Then, when I feel like I'm on a roll I just write on the card.

Supplies: Cardstock: The Paper Company, Die Cut, Alpha Stickers: Cosmo Cricket, Bling and Flower: Kaisercraft, Ribbon: Offray, Stamp: Fiskars, Ink: Versafine

You should know by now how much of a fan I am of negative space.  I've been on a kick using different media and/or fonts for my titles and sentiments.

Thanks for swinging by!  I'm going to keep loving my cards and layouts no matter if they get picked up for pub or not.  And I encourage you to do the same. :)
