Raindrops on roses...

and whiskers on kittens...

That's what always pops into my head when I hear the stamp company name My Favorite Things.  Everything relates to The Sounds of Music, doesn't it??  Almost as much as I can relate any life event to a Friends episode.  Ha!  Last month's issue of ScrapStreet had the Pit Crew showcasing MFT stamps.  I got a kick out of the headless woman stamp!  You'll see in one of the cards below how I used her.  Hey... I was trying to be funny, okay?

Supplies: Paper: October Afternoon, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Ink: Versafine (Tsukineko), Glaze: Ranger Industries. Tools: Electronic Cutter: Silhouette SD, Stamps: My Favorite Things.

I've said this before and I'll say it again... I am stamp challenged.  One of the main reasons is because I don't have the proper coloring utensils.  So when it's an image that would require some coloring, I resort to paper piecing.  And then I use mediums like Glossy Accents to cover up my bad coloring jobs!  The picture doesn't do much justice to the cute bunny above but I did color in the puddle with a blue marker.  That fabulous Glossy Accents just masked up all the gross coloring streaks so nicely!  Yay for G.A.!!!

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics, Paper Accents, Flower: Prima Marketing Inc., Ribbon: Offray, Button: Bo Bunny Press, Ink: Ranger Industries, Embossing Powder: Stampin’ Up!. Tools: Punch: EK Success, Stamps: My Favorite Things, Other: heat embossing gun.

Something that I've always wanted in my stamp collection (yes.. this stamp challenged chick actually has a collection!) was a nice background stamp.  You can imagine my happiness when receiving this stamp with my MFT collection!  The first technique I thought of was to make it sparkly.  Now... I may be challenged but I know how to emboss!  I used some pretty iridescent embossing powder from Stampin' Up! and added a little bit of glimmer to the blue.  And I love how the orange flower just goes POW!  I ended up giving this card to a good friend for her baby shower.

Supplies: Cardstock: Core'dinations, Ribbon: Offray, JoAnn, Sticker: SRM Press, Bling: Kaisercraft, Ink: Versafine (Tsukineko), Embossing Powder: Stampin' Up!, Tools: Stamps: My Favorite Things

This card didn't show up in the publication but I had to come share my technique for this one! I did a bit of reverse embossing here.  I stamped in white ink, embossed in white ink and then colored over the stamp with my water brush dipped in different ink colors.  I love the watercolor look it gives!  The stamped flowers were colored in with the water brush and then adhered with some pop dots.  Add in a fab SRM sticker and wah la!

Supplies: Paper: October Afternoon, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Paper Accents, Core’dinations, Ink: Versafine (Tsukineko), Glaze: Ranger Industries, Markers: Marvy Uchida, Other: recycled paper bag, Font: Engravers MT. Tools: Punch: Fiskars, Stamp: My Favorite Things.

And here it is.  The funny!  Yes... my next pdf class will be all about humorous cards...  yeah yeah!  I figured... who would get a giggle out of receiving a card with a headless woman, with a bag over her head and walking dogs with birthday hats on.  You can't have a bad day after getting this one. ;)

Hey make sure you swing by again tomorrow!  We're having a Blog Hop at All About Me!  We'll each be revealing our layouts for the challenge and there might be some fun little prizes along the way.  I do hope you come join us. :)

Until then...
