January at ScrapStreet!!

I'm a few days behind posting this but the new issue is here:

It's a great issue with lots of wonderful projects inside that will surely inspire you.  Just browsing through it I felt my mojo start to build up!  We got to play with stamps from Unity Stamp Company too so make sure you check out The Showroom article.  It's my debut as the new writer. It's a little different then writing a review about blogs and I am loving it!

Last month we showcased GCD Studios.  Thought I would share a layout I created from that article:

Supplies: Paper: G.C.D. Studios, Ribbon: American Crafts, Brads: American Crafts, GCD Studios, Glitter Glue: Ranger Industries. Tools: Electronic Cutter: Silhouette SD, Punch: Fiskars.
Design Notes: The patterns in these papers reminded me of fabric and I wanted to really bring that out. I used a soft, lacy shape from my Silhouette and then used the negative from the journal spot cut out as an embellishment. Don't be so quick to toss out those scraps!
Journaling: I love this photo of my grandpa and me. I think I was about 3 years old. I loved going to my grandparents house for Christmas! And I miss snuggles with my grampy!

I seriously love that photo of me and grandpa.  And the vintage tones of that paper work well I think. One of my favorite ways to scrap lately is very linear.  I like having patterned paper going across with the focal point on the photo.
One more thing to share with you is that my card is up on the very first card sketch over at Sketch Support!

Supplies: Cardstock: Recollections; Patterned Paper: October Afternoon; Alphabet and star stickers: American Crafts; Crochet flower and brad: Creative Imaginations; Bling: Kaisercraft and Studio116; Electronic Cutter: Silhouette SD

Sorry about the terrible lighting in that photo.  Good light seems to be at a premium lately.  If I manage to get a better one, I'll make sure to come update my post.  To see the sketch, more about my variation and the other creative team work, head over to Sketch Support!  We're having a wonderful grand opening and Allison's sketches are seriously the best to work with!
