Today is a great day!!

Why you might ask?

It's my birthday!

And I'm feeling extremely generous today.  More on that though near the bottom of this post.
Today also happens to be my day to post on the ScrapStreet blog.  I'm sharing a cute lil shaped birthday card and just chatting it up like I usually do.  Yes I talk in person just as much as I jabber on my blog.  There are a few people that roam around these parts that can attest to that!

Here is the card I made but for more details you'll need to go visit the SS blog. :)

I'm still trying to figure out how to get good lighting for photographing my projects.  Good daylight is so at a premium right now.  I do have an Ottlite which seems to help a little.  I'll keep working on it.  :)  And gee... I wonder what I used to make that card.  Any guesses?? Could it be three of my favorite things???

And while you are here I thought I would share another project I did for the GCD Studios article last month.  I used up some of the Christmas paper and buttons from Melody Ross' designs and did a non-holiday layout.

The Little Things by Melissa Elsner
Supplies: Paper, Buttons, Brads, Diecut: G.C.D. Studios, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Flowers: Kaisercraft, Ribbon: Offray, Pen: Signo (Uniball), Zig Memory Systems (Kuretake).
Design Notes: I love pretty buttons and jewels so when I saw the beautiful colors of each of these in our GCD packs, I knew there was going to be a lucky layout. Use buttons to add weight to your layout - literally and creatively!
Journaling: While in Mexico, I met this lady and immediately was drawn to her. We chatted in Spanish. She had on some beautiful earrings, which I complimented. Right away, she took them off, placed them in my hand and told me to think of her until we see each other again in Heaven. We hugged. We cried. It really is the little things. I will remember her!

I am in love with those buttons.  I used the entire package on that layout and now I want more.

Alright.  Want to know why I'm feeling so generous on my birthday??  Well I decided I need to giveaway something to every person who leaves a comment and a way for me to contact them.  I created a class in .pdf called Scrapbooking with Symbolism.  It is part of the Project Team Ewan class package and I would love to share it with all of you!  So leave a comment, an email or some way to find you and I'll send the class to you via email!  I hope you enjoy it and I'm always open to some feedback.

I'm currently working on a new class which will take a slightly different approach to symbolism but will be all about creatively journaling about your life.  I think it's going to be really cool.  And it will be cheap. And fun. More details to come on that as I continue to wrap up some loose ends and finish up some pages.

Hugs to all of you!
