Nothing like a Sunny Saturday...

to brighten your spirits.  It is very cold outside today but I love that the sun is out.  It's like God is giving me a little reassurance that it's not going to be cold and gray forever - that the sun does indeed still exist and actually has the potential to warm your face.  I like all four season but this time of year I am so over with winter!

I think when it comes down to it, Summer is really my favorite season! For multiple reasons - not just because of the weather.  There are so many fun things that happen during the Summer!  At school we get to bring out the sprinklers and do lots of fun water play with the kids.  I take my break outside and soak up the Vitamin D.  In July, I get to travel to Chicago to see some of my favorite ladies and oogle at all the pretty new scrappy things.  In August I get to celebrate one of my best friends and another year of her life!  And the whole time I'm wearing cute short sleeve tops, capri's and sandals. :)

The current kit at SFTIO totally gives the Spring/Summer feel with all of the beautiful pinks and greens.  I'm such a pink girl!  This kit made me swoon.  The emotion this month is Vulnerability.  While that word can bring us to a negative place, it really doesn't have to be.  I am learning to embrace who I am - sensitivity and all.  I'm acknowledging and admitting that yes, I am a sensitive person.  My feelings do get hurt.  And I probably care a little too much about what people think of me.  Instead of brushing it all aside and thinking it's a bad thing, I'm taking the positive aspects of these character traits.

Supplies: Cardstock, Alphabet, Butterfly cut outs: American Crafts, Patterned Paper, journal spot, brads: My Minds Eye, Doily transparency: Maya Road, Flower: Prima Marketing, Bling: Mark Richards, Ribbon: Creative Impressions, Tools: Border Punches: Fiskars and Martha Stewart Crafts, Electronic Cutter: Silhouette SD, Shape: 3d_ruffle_flower

That pretty paper flower was made with a shape on the Silhouette.  I ungrouped all the elements to the shape, duplicated several of the smaller sizes and made two flowers.  One is slightly smaller than the other.  I cut out the journal spot from the My Minds Eye paper.  It was part of the full sheet of pattern but I thought it would work perfectly as it's only little embellishment. :)

So... anybody else looking forward to Summer as much as me????
