The Perfect Life

Sometimes I like to daydream.  Wait.  Sometimes?  Actually, I daydream a lot.  It's just who I am I guess.  The girl who likes to dream about what life would be like if certain circumstances were different.  Like, what would it have been like if I'd been a Princess, living in a grand castle with pretty dresses, fun Princessy friends and a knight in shining armor to rescue me from an evil step-mother.  What?  You think it's just in fairy tales?  Oh pish posh!

I also daydream what it would be like to live in a world with no sickness or pain.  A world where everyone respected one another and there was no hate, crime or fighting.  A world where there wouldn't be tears of sadness or mourning.  But only lots of laughter, dancing, hugs and love.  Too mushy?  Well... I know that's what heaven will be like but I want it NOW!

Then I think about all the babies that have left this earth at such a young age like Ewan.  He was with us for just a few weeks.  His CHD just didn't make it but we were tremendously blessed by his short time here and by his family and their openness to all that happened.  And so we wonder, was HE perfect?  Ewan didn't experience hate, crime, fighting, sickness, etc.  He didn't have the chance to make any wrong choices or think bad thoughts.  We like to think he was perfect.  In his sweet little body with his broken heart.

This layout was made using the February SFTIO kit called Vulnerability.  I thought it only appropriate to create a layout with Ewan and sharing all the emotions that I went through.  Ewan has touched so many lives all thanks to his mama's generous blogging and sharing of her journey and grief.  While we definitely wish Ewan was still with us, I have to admit - he sure changed a lot of lives that probably wouldn't have been changed as they are now.  Pretty cool stuff!

All supplies in this layout are from the Vulnerability kit.  Here are the details:

Supplies: Cardstock, Patterned Paper, Butterfly Stickers, Metal, Journal Spots: American Crafts, Flower: Prima Marketing, Doily Transparency: Maya Road, Brads: My Minds Eye, Letter stickers: Cosmo Cricket, Heart Whimsey: Webster's Pages, Pen: Zig Memory Systems, Crackle Accents: Ranger Industries, Tool: Electronic Cutter: Silhouette SD
Design Notes:  I used the Crackle Accents on the metal flower to make it a little different.  It totally gives it a new, aged look which I really liked.

This layout is also being shared on the Project Team Ewan blog.  Please come visit us and see how you can be a part of Project Team Ewan!  We'd love to rally up as many crafters as possible all for a good cause.

Until next time!
