Wow, Card and a Winner

Holy moley.  There are a LOT of you that like Sketch Support huh??  I have never in my blogging life had that many comments on a blog post.  Over 180 of you.  *thud*  <- That was the sound of me fainting!

But seriously... how awesome and you all just made me sit up straighter in my chair.  Now I'll really need to focus and do my best work and THANK YOU for all the love and support.  Allison makes some great sketches and has the sweetest personality to go with it.  I love humble talent. :)  I've drawn my winner of the sketch book but you'll have to wait until the end of the post.  Hehe!

So every week Silhouette has a free shape.  I absolutely loved this week because it is a 3d flower!! Yay!! I love 3d flowers!!  It's a super cute and fun chrysanthemum.  The petals are thin and intricate but you know this machine does an amazing job cutting those wee details.  Here is a card I made using the new shape:

Supplies: Cardstock: Recollections, The Paper Company, Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Bling: Kaisercraft, Ribbon: Making Memories, Sticker: SRM Press, Walnut ink: Tsukineko, Silhouette Shapes: 3d_chrysanthemum, faux stitches_basic (I ungrouped them all and used the rounded corner square)  and a card kit shape called 'card'.  The kit came with some other elements that I didn't use.  Just used the base and that tag.

Doesn't that flower have amazing dimension??  How in the world will I ever get it to fit in an envelope??

And no card is quite complete until I put a sticker from SRM on it!

This card was also inspired by one of the challenges currently being held at ScrapStreet for our Oscar Crop.  Today is the last day of the crop.  Our sweet Lori sure comes up with some fabulous challenges. :)

Also... I scrounged up some old Cosmo for this card and also some old MM ribbon.  It's so funny how we tend to view scrapbooking product like fashion.  Really?  If I didn't know anything about the latest releases, I would never guess any of this as "vintage" or "two years ago".  It's still super cute and beautiful!

I found a wonderful gem of an online community for Silhouette owners.  It's a fabulous forum called Silhouette Plus.  If you have a machine and want to network with other users and crafters, then head on over.  It's a wonderful group of ladies who love sharing what they have learned and gleaning off one another and their Silhouette usage.

Okay.  Blah blah blah... hehe... I suppose that might be what you are "reading" if you are seeking out to see who won the Sketches for Scrapbooking Volume 7 sketchbook by Allison Davis.  Yeah?  You want to know if it's YOU???

There was no way I was going to write down all those names and draw one so I did the random generator thing.  If your name is...

Ginny said...I love the 1 page adaption! I tend to get stuck doing things as they are, instead of thinking outside the box. Thanks for the reminder! Great layout!!!

One last thing before I go... are you a card maker?  Have you always dreamed of being published??  How would you like to appear in my Card Corner article at ScrapStreet??  I'd love to have a list of designers to call on each month to appear in my article.  Be on the look out on March 1st for the next round of calls.  Submit to me a card using that call by the submission date and I'll be letting you know.   You can email your submissions to me directly at melissa (at) scrapstreet (dot) com.  Can't wait to see what you make!!
