It Goes Both Ways

Well Happy St. Patricks Day to you!  Are you wearing green?  I heard on the radio the other morning that the original color was blue. In fact:

In the United States, it's customary to wear green on St. Patrick's Day. But in Ireland the color was long considered to be unlucky, says Bridget Haggerty, author of The Traditional Irish Wedding and the Irish Culture and Customs Web site.
As Haggerty explains, Irish folklore holds that green is the favorite color of the Good People (the proper name for faeries). They are likely to steal people, especially children, who wear too much of the color.
Hehe... still want to wear green?  Since I don't feel like explaining this to everyone today I'm wearing my green and will risk being snatched up by a fairy.

And then later tonight I'll be heading out with my good friend Kaari for some delish Red Robin with some beer.  Yep.  Gotta have a brewsky to commemorate a fabulous Irish holiday. Speaking of Kaari, it seemed fitting to have her friendship featured on a layout for the current kit at SFTIO - Inspiration. I have lots of a friends but very few "close friends".  I'd say there are about two to three people in life who truly get me and we've figured out the secret to a good friendship.  "It Goes Both Ways!"  I love it that we can be there for one another, encourage each other, hold one another accountable and our personalities compliment one another.  I'm a hard personality to get along with.  I won't deny it.  Some people say that's not true but I know myself way too well.  Maybe that's why it's become easier because I am more aware and work harder when my difficult self wants to surface.  Regardless, I'm so thankful for those who choose to walk along side me in life.

How can you not want to cut out those fun balloons??  I've always wanted to try this dimension technique by popping up the same type of element on paper.

More balloons and I also wanted to "ground" the design. So I took my handy dandy ruler and drew a line around the design.  Then anchored it with some pretty Prima pearls.

I love exploring fonts online.  While the typewriter fonts are my favorite, I also like these ones that look like handwriting.  Someone actually thought it was my handwriting.  I can only wish it was this neat!

Thanks for swinging by!  I do hope you get a chance to come play along with us at SFTIO.  We do weekly challenges and have lots of chit chat about the emotion for the month.  You don't have to have the kit to play along but how you could not?

hugs,
Melissa
