Some Nikki Love

Happy Wednesday!

I'm really trying to be happy here. It was so beautiful, sunny and practically warm the other day. I thought, "YES! Spring is HERE!"  And what does the weather do?  It turns into gross, rainy, cloudy, bleh. And I have to wear a jacket. I don't wanna wear a jacket! HMPH! (All said in true toddler temper tantrum form.) The good news is that warmer days are coming again. I'll believe it when I see it.

In the meantime, I did something that always brings a smile to my face and that is create. I used some fun Nikki Sivils product for the Guest Designer contest happening right now. There are two super awesome sketches by Anam to use and I did both. Here is my layout using some of my left over Max & Mollie papers:

I have a hard time with stark white backgrounds so I used some Smooch Spritz to add some color. I wanted to follow the sketch closely but I did flip it.  Just for fun. :)  Actually it was because my flourishes went the other direction. Hehe! These papers are fun and cute.  How can you not smile working with pink and green??
Here is the card I made:

I had a Mini Pad of the Blueberry Hill line in my stash forever. Always wanted to dig into it but just never did. Not sure why because as I was layering it for this card I found myself smiling again. How cute are those little suns?? I used some bakers twine from Jillibean Soup to do some stitching and a bow.  And nothing completes a card like an SRM sticker. :)
Well. I hear the rest of the country is still getting crazy weather but oh man... let's all hope it clears up soon with some PRETTY SUNSHINE! Can I get an Amen????

hugs,
Melissa
