As a teacher I have gone through years of kiddos coming through the various classes I teach. Each year brings similar challenges. There's the beginning of the year when we're all getting to know each other, our quirks, personalities, boundaries, etc. And then the end of the year when we tearfully say goodbye and I watch a group that has grown up before my very eyes move on.
And then there is the middle of the year. As I am establishing relationships, trust, respect, confidence, safety... There are still challenges, of course, but it's during this time that I fall in love with teaching all over again. I haven't taught in awhile and I miss it. My heart misses it! While I was reminiscing of how much I missed it, I came across a photo of when I was teaching in Guatemala. I remember thinking I had a favorite class. But what I realized was each class was my favorite for different reasons. One group, in particular, was one I struggled with but loved them so much. That would be the Kindergarten class. Oh man. The age I had the most experience with and yet they were difficult because most of my classes were older children and I got use to doing "older" activities. But I loved them. They were a crazy bunch and I appreciated their zest for life.

It's one page sketch week at Sketch Support this week. When I saw it, it screamed "playful layout" to me. Seriously. Screamed. And how perfect to use the Soiree line? Such a fun and colorful collection of patterns and colors. You can see more of the Creative Team's examples of the sketch on the website.
Happy first day of summer to all my northern hemisphere friends! It is actually going to feel like summer here! Yay!
