Feeling Optimistic?

I've always been a pretty optimistic person. I'm able to see the good in people, hope for the future and seem to always keep a "brighter side" attitude. That's not to say I've got my moments of pessimism. Mostly happens when I'm grumpy or not feeling well.  Like today. My cold from last week has resulted in the most horrible cough. My ribs and now my back hurt from so much coughing. It takes so much energy out of me and I just want to come home and go to bed. But do I? Nope. I needed to blog first. :)

This month's kit from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is called Optimism. I loved it! Most of my layouts were very easy to create but I can understand why this might be a difficult topic for those who have a hard time seeing the positive. But that's okay because you can record those feelings on a layout too.

I know that my optimism comes from my faith. Whenever I feel like the world is out to get me or just beating myself up, I love that I can go to my Bible and read scripture that reminds me that this life is temporary. That I am loved and that God is in control. I HATE the phrase "God won't give you anything you can't handle."  I hate it because it's not true. I/you can't handle anything. It should say "God won't give you anything HE can't handle."  Rewording it that way helps me have a more optimistic outlook on my life.

The flowers on this layout were cut with my Silhouette. I used two shapes: layered_petal_flower and 3d_layered_chrysanthemum. The chrysanthemum layers are put together with adhesive and the petal flower was put together with the brad. I was able to punch a hole in the middle and layer it that way.

Would you believe I embossed on this chipboard sun?? I've never embossed on chipboard before, have you? It was really easy. I brushed on some gesso and let it dry. Then inked it up good with some yellow, sprinkled clear embossing powder and heat set it. I think it gave it a pretty cool look!

All supplies except for the bling (Kaisercraft), brads (American Crafts) and embossing supplies are from the Optimism kit. Here is a photo of the kit:

Hi Connie...
They are shapes from the Silhouette. If you read about half way through my post I talk about how I layered them. Thanks for the compliment! :)

Your idea of "rewording" that thought/verse is a pretty good idea. Makes sense. LOVE those cool flowers!
