A Little Canvas

Well hello Monday...
Here we go again.

I'm praying that this week will go by smoothly just like last week. I just really wouldn't mind a vacation. Only four more weeks!!! :)

I used some more goodies from Basically Bare this weekend. Went a little outside my usual style and created a mini-canvas. I had lots of fun with this. Reminded me of my Art teaching days and doing mixed media.

For the base of the canvas I put on dollops of pink and orange paint. Then forced it to drop down the canvas by spraying on water. Once the paint dried, I did some clear embossing to add texture. You can't see it in the photo and it's very subtle in person. Don't know if I'll do it again as it was totally an experiment.  I ended up stamping with some of my Unity Stamps.

I found that stamping on canvas isn't exactly easy. The end result isn't quite what I was going for but I do like it.

The items from Basically Bare are the canvas heart and the chipboard button. I spritzed the heart with some Smooch Spritz and then did some Crackle Accents around the edges. Again, can't really see that in the photo and it's very subtle in person. I DO like the way this experiment turned out though.

I painted the chipboard button with orange paint and then coated it with Glossy Accents. That's always been one of my favorite things to do with chipboard elements. In the above photos you will also see I did a few spots of Liquid Pearls.

I'm having lots of fun experimenting and playing with all these goodies from Basically Bare. I'm so happy they are out there in the scrappy world now and I can't wait to see their booth at CHA!

Well, hope your start to the week wasn't too painful. Coffee anyone?
