Hopes and Dreams

What are you hopes and dreams?

Everytime I hear that question (which isn't often) I think about the movie "Never Been Kissed" where the main character goes back to high school, undercover, to write an article about high school scandal. She would begin her conversation with the teens with that question. Funny movie, by the way, if you haven't seen it. Takes place in my favorite city too. :)

This month our kit at Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is DREAM. I began to hear Drew Barrymore's character ask that question and though of high school. What were my dreams back then? Are they the same now? Did any of them come true? Were they so far fetched and full of naive that none could have possibly come true? Or did they change because I grew and things changed and happened in ways I could have never imagined? I think the latter is what is most true. I don't think my dreams and hopes back then were too lofty. But I also had no idea what was to come. Who I would meet. The path my life would take.

And I don't regret it. Now I have new dreams and hopes and I believe we need them! It's what keeps us going and trying to achieve all that we are capable of and so much more!

I recently found all of my senior photo proofs from way back when. They've been hanging out in a box collecting dust. When I looked at them all kinds of emotions welled up and I knew that I needed to incorporate them into my layouts. So you'll be seeing them pop up and me reminiscing from time to time. :)

Love the symbolism in this month's kit. Little windows as we glimpse into our dreams.

One last thing before I leave you, we have a new feature over at ScrapStreet! A MINI MAG! That's right! You no longer have to wait for the goodness of the big mag each quarter. We now have a sweet little mini mag full of beautiful inspiration as well. Love it!

Click on the photo to be taken to the issue.

And that's all for today! Now it's back to work for me. What a weird day. Traveling all day yesterday on very little sleep and now suddenly thrown back into the daily grind. I can do this!

Wow, your layout is just stunning, Melissa! Love the design with the white space and love the soft colors and papers. The light aqua mixed with purple and yellow is truly gorgeous. Love your kraft journaling tag and love the little window. Fabulous flower, too. :)
