Card Making Spree

This weekend I challenged myself to plug through some of my scraps. I don't know about you, but I have a lot. Always with the best intentions, I have my scraps all organized in a big, expandable file thingy. But rarely do I actually dig into that stash. So besides the layouts for dt work, every time I sit at my table to create, I'm making myself pull out the scraps. :)

I had a TON of little pieces left over from Crate Papers' Random collection. Love this collection! It truly is a "random" grouping of patterns and embellishments. But I love it that way because everything can be used for just about any occasion. Here are a couple of the cards I came up with.

First I did a very simple card. Just a couple of scraps and pretty pearls. :) The strip that has the scalloped pattern on it is actually the edge of the large 12x12. You know, the one that usually has the manufacturer name on it and collection. I love how Crate reveals the reverse side of the paper this way. Makes it fun to use on projects like this one.

Supplies: Paper: Crate Paper, Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Brad: My Minds Eye, Pearls: Kaisercraft, Jute: Other, Stamp: Fiskars, Ink: Versafine (Tsukineko)

Now how about a total 180 for supplies. The next card I used lots of scraps and patterns. The card size is square 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". The strips of paper are about 3/4" - give or take an 1/8 of an inch. :)

So... do you actually use your scraps? Or am I the only one who seems to have "good intentions"? Haha!
