Lily Bee Design Part 2

Hello everyone!

I've got another layout that was created for my GDT post at Lily Bee Design this week. (Still reeling from the giddiness!) Today, on the Lily Bee blog, I'm sharing my scrap space among other things. Hope you are able to check it out!

This layout was created using the new collection Handmade.

This one is my favorite. The colors I loved, the patterns made me swoon and I love the little sayings and quotes on the stickers. I'll be creating for a long time with this collection.  Because of the quilt theme throughout the papers, I knew I wanted to create a layout about friendship and found the perfect photo. It's not celebrating my current girlfriends and such but it's got a nostalgic feel to it. There was a group of us who would meet weekly to pray and do some Bible study with. Most of us have gone our separate ways for a variety of reasons.  While I know that things are definitely not the same right now, I am thankful for fond memories and miss what we once had. Such sweet memories indeed.

I love how with each collection there is a muted, almost solid) cardstock. I've been trying to break out of my comfort zone and use patterned paper backgrounds instead of just plain cardstock. It's hard! I just get so overwhelmed by the pattern and don't like it. So I'm thankful for this light grid paper that is allowing me to dip my toes a bit. A little paint splatter for the background helps too.

The word 'memories' and the flower were cut with the Cameo.

I took one of the Journal Cards and sliced it up for the journaling. I also have recently been adding some twine doodling. Adds a fun and whimsical texture to the layout.

Some little pearls to add to the softness and give some more subtle texture. It's a nice alternative to bling but still adds a little punch to those areas I find feel bare.

Thanks again for stopping by today!  I've got one more project to share tomorrow as part of the GDT at Lily Bee! :)
