Finally Free

Sometimes our past isn't happy daisy thoughts. Rainbows and unicorns are few and far between. And hey... who decided that unicorns represented happiness anyway? They aren't that cute to me. Thankfully, despite the bad parts of my past, I'm thankful for happy moments. Memories of joy, family and positive events. Thankful is definitely the feeling that enters my thoughts. I truly believe that it made my healing and renewal that much easier. Although, it wasn't always easy and I still, periodically, find myself facing obstacles thanks to my "knee-jerk" reactions that are due to the emotional toll my past has brought on.

But, despite it all, and thanks to a year or two of therapy, I'm so happy to be Finally Free. Free from my own misunderstandings and judgments.

Using the August ESCAPE kit by Scrapbooking from the Inside Out

This is becoming my signature flower. Ha! I just love making it and how it can show off pretty paper.

Journaling. This pretty much sums it up! Never knew how much my past held me captive until I faced it and let it go.

Love the banners and tissue paper from the Neapolitan collection by Dear Lizzy for American Crafts.

Have you faced what has chained you down? I say do it. You'll be surprised by the freedom you feel. It's motivating and inspiring. Then... go scrapbook about it. :)
