Ode to Dorkland

Happy Friday!!!

I love when Friday rolls around. Not because I don't like my job but I definitely look forward to a couple of days of not having to get up early. To relax with a glass of wine. Scrap for a little bit. Get things done around the house. Collect myself for the next week. Yes, Fridays are good. :)

Today, I'd like to invite you to my little special place called Dorkland. We've all got our special place. Admit it. For some Clumsyland. For others it's Neatfreakland. There was a time in my life where I would try to be something I wasn't in front of others. Now? I wave my dork flag proudly. What does that mean? I allow goofy photos of myself to go public. I accept and confess to those times I do something completely dorkified. I don't let it get me down. Instead, I embrace that part of me and, at times, escape to it. It's okay to be the real ME.

Those photos were taken at Winter CHA 2012 in January. The Jillibean Soup booth had a fun photo booth area. I was eager to be completely goofy. Smiling and laughing are good for the soul.

I love the fun, carefree colors of the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection by American Crafts. Playful. Me.

Enough Said.

So what land do you escape to when you just need a break from being a "responsible adult"? Or do you ever take a break?

It's taken me awhile to get past judgement from others. I'm sure folks have labeled me as immature when I've let my dork flag fly. I'd be lying if I said it still didn't bother me but I'm telling the truth when I say, it doesn't stop me from being me.
