Well, I had my first Thanksgiving in Chicago...
... and it was wonderful!
I am so thankful for friends like Dora, who invited me out to the Naperville area for her family Thanksgiving. It was fun to take the train out to the 'burbs for a couple of days. While I love the big city, it is nice to get out of it for a little bit. When I came back home tonight, I fell in love all over again!
Today, before heading back home, we spent some time paper crafting. It was so fun to sit and create with a friend again. Especially with someone I can "talk scrap" with. So thankful for friendships like that!
Here is one of the cards I created using Grandmas' Lima Bean Soup by Jillibean Soup.
Nope. It's not a Christmas card! And that's okay. :)
To make this card, I used the strips of paper found on the cover sheet of the collection pack. Sometimes those cover sheets are just flimsy copy paper. But this time, it was cardstock! So cool! So instead of cutting into the big 12x12 papers, I just trimmed the strips that showcase the collection.
The top, shaped circle was fussy cut from the cover, as well. But the blue and green circles and paper button are from the die cut sheet.
Instead of using the normal dot to top the j, I used some bling. Love the bit of sparkle it brings.
Hope you had a good weekend!
