Give Thanks

I cannot believe that it is already the end of November.

I remember this time last year when I was gearing up for the holiday with family and for Black Friday shopping. A fairly new tradition had begun with shopping that night at Michael's and then standing in line at midnight for my favorite stores. This time last year, I had decided I was going to do it again and stay out until the wee hours of the morning. It was so much fun! I finally understood why folks shop during those hours. It is more pleasant and the prices are worth it. Of course, if you don't need to be out (who really does, right?), then go to bed!

So, I had no idea I would be in a completely different city and state this Thanksgiving. I'm thankful to be able to go to my friend Dora's house and have dinner with her family. It will be lots of fun to take the train out to the 'burbs and get out of the city for a couple of days. Shopping on Black Friday will definitely be different this year but that's okay. It's not really about the shopping.

I love how Thanksgiving is a way to remember what we a thankful for. The many blessings God has given us and, while we should be thankful each day, I am thankful for a day each year to be obvious and ground me once again.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with whoever you are spending it with!

I did create a couple of cards using Fall Fun Printables by Jen Martakis Designs. These digital elements are specifically created for us hybrid crafters. Super easy to print out and cut or punch.

On the above card I used a larger circle punch to punch out the pattern paper. Then I punched out one of the circle elements to place inside the hole. The card is finished off with the buttons and a sticker from SRM Stickers.  The faux stitching helps bring it all together.

The card above uses all the printable elements from the kit. I used my tiny circle punch to create the scalloped image.

Thanks for swinging by!
