Hello and Goodbye

On January 2 I started a new teaching job. It was such a good and healthy decision to leave my last teaching job. It was not a good situation and I found myself beginning to not enjoy teaching. I did not like who I was becoming as a teacher. So, off I went, in search of a new place of employment; hoping that wherever I was work next, would be much, much better!

And... it IS!

I created this layout to chronicle, a little bit, this transition I am going through. While I will be forever thankful for my first job, here in Chicago, I am even more thankful for this new one.

When things aren't very "harmonious" in life, walking away isn't always the same thing as running away. Sometimes it is a very WISE decision to just walk away.  And walk away is what I did!

I loved the papers included with the HARMONY kit from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out. Some of those said papers are from Websters Pages - the Park Drive collection. The colors and patterns are definitely a great portrayal of symbolism when it comes to the word Harmony. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out all the chevron and arrow elements. Because this layout is about "moving on", I needed to have some movement to symbolize that thought and emotion.

The adorable motifs, that are found in just about all the collections at Websters, are so perfect for fussy cutting and using as embellishments. Such is with the journey sign.
