I wouldn't call myself a big risk taker. While I'm willing to try new things, I do like the little bit of comfort of knowing, or having an idea, of what the outcome will be. However, there have a been a few times in my life where I've taken some pretty risky steps. I had no idea what would happen. I had my thoughts and perceptions about what might happen but, for the most part, those thoughts were blown out of the water.
Using the February kit RISK from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out, I took the opportunity to use some symbolism and record the top three moments of my life where I took a risk.
The color palette of this layout is so. not. me. Which, I think, works perfectly for a layout about "Taking Chances". Using black as a base makes me very uncomfortable but... how will I know until I actually try it? And I kind of like it!
Pops of color. Pops of red. Some texture and simple journaling.
Another "out of my comfort zone" element is using transparencies. I can definitely count the number of projects on ONE hand that I've actually liked using transparencies. This layout could certainly be one of them.
So what kind of risks have you taken? And if you like to play it safe... I dare you to step out of your comfort zone! It can only grow you into a better person. :)
