Why do I choose to be a preschool teacher? The pay is terrible. Benefits are few and far between. Runny noses, accidents, crying, fighting, whining...
Why do I do it??? Why PRESCHOOL???
I have no good answer other than I know it's where I'm suppose to be right now. It's not a luxurious job. It's often overlooked as being a legitimate teaching job.
But the good points? If you find a good school to work at, there are good benefits, the pay isn't too shabby and the support is great. That's where I'm at right now. My class is NOT full of angels. In fact, I wonder if they all need to go have their ears checked but I still adore them for different reasons. A couple of those kiddos I have to work harder to find reasons to adore but the reasons do exist.
And being a preschool teacher is definitely a REAL teaching job. I've taught all ages and taught multiple subjects. Being a preschool teacher is very much TEACHING.
Will I always be a preschool teacher? I'm not sure. I'm getting burned out and have some other passions but, in the meantime, it's not about the money. It's seeing eyes light up as something new is learned. It's about getting those hugs and kisses on the cheek. It's reading a four year olds journal that has a picture of Miss Melissa going to a restaurant with the family. That's what it is all about for me... right now.
This layout was created using the April kit FORTUNE from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out.
Clean and simple is the name of the game here. I pulled out the papers with fun and simple graphics since this layout is about my current job.
The circle and scallop border were both cut with my Cameo.
Thanks for swinging by! Have a great weekend. :)
