I've heard this verse many times through out my life. When I was younger, I don't think I truly grasped what it was saying. Now that I'm older and deeper in my faith, it is making more and more sense. I've taken some huge leaps of faith in recent years and have had the honor to see that verse fulfilled.
From quitting a full time job and going back to school to moving to a foreign country and, most recently, moving across the country for a very long time. All these steps of faith were done with as much as confidence as I could muster up. When I look back, I see the extreme faithfulness, compassion and love of God in every situation. And I am so thankful I took those steps and pressed into what I hoped for.
The unknown is a very scary place. Especially for those of us who like to have the details. We like to be reassured that everything is okay and there will be no surprises. I like to take risks... but only if I know that outcome of that risk. Haha! Will I break my leg? Will I lose a ton of money? Will I die? Will I have to eat brussel sprouts?
When it comes to faith... and my relationship with Jesus... having confidence in the unknown, is peaceful... it feels WRONG for me to feel at peace but it is what it is. And that's how I know there really is a God and He has the best for me in mind.
This layout was created using the July kit CONFIDENCE from SFTIO. I just love the symbolism and product in this kit. So perfect for our topic this month.
Some design notes: The speak bubbles are actually cut from a sheet of patterned paper by Simple Stories. I do enjoy some fussy cutting. ;)
I also had some fun with the journaling and pulled some words from the sticker sheet. Not only does it make the journaling fun but it adds some interest to the layout.
