Happy Tuesday-Friday everyone!
The calendar tells me it's Tuesday but it's my Friday today. So looking forward to a five day weekend. The last time I had a long weekend, I flew to visit my hometown. This time, I'm enjoying some extra time to rest, explore and create. Um... and get my Illinois Drivers License... finally... a year later... woops... :)
Well, I usually like to save my favorite layout, using the montly SFTIO kit, for last but, this month I seriously love all four. However, this first one I'm sharing seems to be extra special to me. It's extra special because of the design AND because of the content.
When I was first exploring content for my layouts, I came across this quote via Pinterest:
Confidence is the ability to feel beautiful, without needing someone to tell you.
I let that soak in for a bit.
Confidence is not a bad thing. It's note prideful. It's not boastful. It's something that keeps your eyes looking straight ahead at the world in front of you. It's something that makes you feel bold, secure and knowing that you truly are important and special.
Naturally, I had to use this quote for a layout.
I'll walk you through some design stuff. I'll begin with how I did the quote.
I adore my Silhouette Cameo! I decided to just cut out some cardstock with that quote. So, in the Silhouette Studio, I designed my own "subway art" inspired text.
Then, I chose the cardstock I wanted to use from the selection in the kit. The SFTIO kits have several sheets of cardstock that match perfectly with the patterned paper and other elements of the kit. I love that there is no guess work!
I cut out the title and then backed it with various cardstock and papers.
I will admit, there was time involved with this as I peeled off the tiny bits and centers for the e's and the a's, etc. But I love it and the time it took to make was worth it.
My journaling goes on to say where my confidence comes from. I have security in knowing my identity is in Christ. Because of that, I know that He finds me beautiful and I don't need to hear it all the time. Of course, I do have moments when I feel completely fat and ugly. When I feel that way, it really is nice to hear that I am beautiful but... the fact of the matter is, I don't need to hear it all the time. And that's a big deal for me.
It felt good to create this layout. I had a great photo, a wonderful quote and beautiful, symbolic product to work with. I love it when that happens. :)
