SFTIO Design Team Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

I'm so glad you have stopped my blog today because we have a very special weekend here for you. The design team from Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is hosting a blog hop. Yay!  You are at the first stop so, just keep reading.

Did you know each month Inside Out provides inspiration for you? Not only do we have an amazing kit, if we say so ourselves, but, we also realize that the approach we take to scrapbooking, doesn't always come easy. No fear! We have challenges and inspiration galore. Journaling prompts help get your ideas flowing and make it easier for you to express your heart onto a page.

Our blog hop this weekend is kicking off one our challenges, using one of the journaling prompts, for the month of February using the kit INTENTION

Here is the prompt:
One Little Word: Do you set an intention for the year, using the one little word concept or perhaps by making New Years resolutions? Does using these techniques help you change in a positive direction, or does it put pressure on you that is sometimes too intense? How have you fared in prior years using OLW and do you have one in place for this year? What did you choose and why?

Have you chosen your word for the year?

I chose DREAM.

The word basically jumped out at me. I'm really looking forward to 2014 and seeing how this dream comes to fruition. I'm going to share my visual journaling page with you and share how I pulled some symbolism from the kit.

Imagine my glee when I saw the paper with the dream catcher on it.

Let me say this... finding symbolism from this kit was VERY easy for me. Hello... DREAM.... DREAMcatcher...

I'm a pretty clean and simple designer when it comes to scrapbooking. I like clean, linear designs and I like to use pops of color and lots of texture. I chose to use the row of hearts on this page because every time I think about my word for the year, I feel peace and joy. I like the progression of the hearts and the movement they bring to this page.

Dream is all about MOVEMENT for me.

Check out the texture on that chalkboard banner! I love it! And I like using the banner on this page. There is sort of a celebration going on here.

Dream is a positive and powerful word for me. I've spent the last few years with "inward" words. These were words that had me pausing and taking a good, long look at my heart. Are my choices, words, actions, etc. really good ones? Am I really being good to myself? Do I truly know who I am?

Now that I've done a lot of introspective work, I'm ready to move forward. I'm ready to put some dreams into reality and create NEW dreams!

How perfect is that chevron bling? All about motion and movement.

I'm really looking forward to this year! I think I already said that. 2014 is going to be amazing and I'm excited to have you along for the journey.

Now... let's get moving on this hop. Before I send you away, though, I want to share that there is going to be a prize!

You see this tote?

One lucky winner will receive it filled with yummy artsy things! I have two of these totes and LOVE them! They are eco-friendly and the perfect size to tote your art supplies to crops. They are also great for grocery shopping and saving the earth from all those yucky plastic bags!

In order to be eligible to win, you must leave a comment on my blog post. I'd love to hear what your word is for 2014! And... to help heighten your chances of winning, make sure to leave a comment on each of the design team blogs. You have until 9 p.m. PST on Saturday, February 8th to be eligible.

Now... your next stop is JEN

Have fun!

LOVE your layout- I really like that dream catcher paper!

My OLW is "create", but I'm also doing a themed art journal and the theme is "dream". :)

Fabulous LO!! That draem catcher paper works perfectly for your LO!!!!
I have had OLW in the past but decided to take this year off........well, I just joined a mixed media journal swap and the theme is OLW. After thinking long and hard.........I decided on "Healthy". I do not mean how we eat cause we do eat healthy. I mean looking at my health. I was recently in the hospital needing three pints of blood. To make a long story short....I have a family genetic syndrome where you bleed a lot. Now I need to get myself healthy so I can carry on a normal life!

love your LO Melissa! love the gray background with the pops of bright colors! I don't have a OLW, but if I did, I think it would be something in the line of Persevere, or Hope, or Believe... hmmmmmm... something to think about!
