We Meet Again

Happy NSD Hangover Day Everyone!

For the first time in two years, I have felt amazingly inspired to participate in National Scrapbooking Day! It feels great! The past couple of months have been rough. My job has completely drained me emotionally and physically so, finding the energy (and mojo) to create has been next to nothing. In fact, I even toyed with the thought of walking away from it all for a bit.

I'm SO glad I didn't!

Yesterday (and today) have been so much fun! I have created three layouts for fun. No deadlines. No rules. No restrictions. Just for fun. It is SO important to do that and I'm glad I did!

So, here is the first layout I created, based on a challenge over at Two Peas in a Bucket:

Supplies: Paper: Echo Park Paper, Alphabet: American Crafts (Collage by Amy Tangerine), Wood Veneers: Studio Calico, Metal 'This' Clip, Washi Tape: Freckled Fawn, Flair: Bossy Joscie, Paint: Ranger Industries

This challenge was given by the fabulous Paige Evans and was called "Signature Style". This was the perfect challenge to start with as the premise was to create in a way that I LOVE. Using elements, design, color, techniques... all the things I love and that I would describe as my "signature style".

I love color. I love layering. I love patterns. I love clean and simple. I love adding a little bit of mess. And I love scrapbooking about non-events. I like to include the unexpected thoughts and journal about them.

This layout is all about my thought to get back into my work out groove. I was doing so well for awhile and then, when winter settled in, I stopped. And the waistline proves it. Ugh.

All the little details really complete this layout. Lots of patterns, of course, but I also like adding the finishing touches. Such as the wood veneers and the metal paper clips. I also LOVE those flair buttons. Those are by the talented Joscelyne Cutchens aka Bossy Joscie. You can get your own flair by vising her site HERE

Of course, I used my all time favorite collection from Echo Park Paper - Everyday Eclectic by Allison Kreft. I still have a TON left over! I can't part with any of it. I love it so much!

Have you been able to participate in the festivities this weekend? Just getting started? I am working on my third layout right now and hope to even finish a fourth.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!
