I have a card to share with you today! It uses a FREE cut file from the Just Nick Studio and Creative Scrappers team up, for the month of July. I also adapted the sketch for my card. I think you'll be able to see how I was inspired by it.
The cut file used is called Chopsticks. It is FREE this month only with the code CSFREE at checkout. You can view the Creative Scrappers sketch here. Make sure to play along and create something using the cut file and sketch because you could have a chance at winning a $25 shopping spree in the Just Nick shop!!!
So, here is the card in full...
I used papers from the Bella Rouge collection by Pink Paislee. Such a fun collection that I still adore.
To adapt this cut file for a card was super easy. I simply traced it in my Silhouette Software, just like usual, and then released the compound path. After that, I deleted a few rows and then shrunk it down in size to fit the front of the card. The easiest way I adapt a cut file to the card is, I create a rectangle shape, in the software, that is the same size as the card base. Then, I am able to shrink and place the cut file exactly how and where I want it.
I used scotch tape and a liquid adhesive to place the papers on the back. Then, I chose a paper with a simple pattern to adhere over the top of it. No one wants to see a bunch of scotch tape strips when they open their card!
I cut the flowers out of one of the patterned papers and glued them on. The cork embellishment is from Elle's Studio and the rub-ons are from Crate Paper.
Well, thanks for swinging by! I'm on vacation for a week and don't plan to do any blogging! Although, I do have my reintroduction on the Just Nick blog so, that will be coming. Until next week for anything else!
