Scraplift Sunday: Cathy Martin

So, I'm going to try something. No promises on it being a regular thing but, I just have so many designers that I'm inspired by. Every once in awhile, someone creates a project that makes me want to create! Such is the case with a layout that Cathy Martin recently made for Just Nick Studio.

Check it out:

Incredible, right???

I didn't recognize the white background paper so, asked if it was already printed with the star circle.

She stamped that baby! Can you believe it???

I could stare at this page for hours. I love the colors and the playfulness of it. I love how she incorporated the patterned papers with the cut file and... really... I love all of it!

So, here is my lift. I really didn't do it justice but, I will say it was so much fun to create!

Pardon the photo I used. The last time I used a photo of me making a funny face, I got some negative feedback. Haha. But, I had to show some 'tude with this photo because it was National Coffee Day and I had to go get my own stinking coffee!!! This was after putting out a plea to my friends about being stuck at school with no caffeine. I mean really. Come on friends!!! ;)

I, too, used a cut file from  Just Nick Studio (naturally) and, because I wanted to play up on the XO and LOVE for coffee, I used a small heart stamp from Clique Kits and my black Versafine ink.

Before I stamped, I traced the circle, lightly, with a pencil so, I knew exactly were to stamp. I like the idea of some of the hearts being covered by the paper.

After that, I did some ink splatter and embellishing. This was a great way to use up some of my enamel dots stash. As much as I hate running out, I did have a couple of packs that only had a few left and matched this collection (Little by Little by Shimelle) perfectly!

Since I only did one photo, I created some "heavy" title work in the place where Cat had placed her other photo. This helps to balance everything out... plus it exudes my love for coffee. :)

So there you have it!

Thank you Cathy for the amazing inspiration!
