Are you still friends with the people you graduated high school with? What about the ages of your group of friends?
For me, I'm not connected with any one from my high school years and as I think about my friends, the ages range from early 30's and up to mid 50's. I always wondered why most of my friends were older or younger than me but, also didn't dwell on it too much because, I love who God has brought in to my life.
Well, this past year I joined a Small Group through my church and, the ladies of the group quickly noticed that we were all the same age! How fun! Recently, we celebrated the 40th birthday of the last one to turn 40 and I just love how we click. We relate so much from what we were experiencing our Senior year of high school to just random generational stuff. SO cool! I still feel like I'm the youngest. I think some of it comes from being the only one who isn't married or has kids. While I'm not immature, it still just feels like I'm a bit younger. Thanks American society!!! BLEH! Thankfully, that is a BLIP in the friendships we have been forming this past year and goes away so fast when we start chatting and having a good time.
Of course, I had to document the thoughts and the fun birthday night on a layout.
Aren't we a hot group of 40 year olds??? I sure think so!
For this layout I used lots of Oh Happy Life by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts. This is such a fun and bright collection! I love the combo of busy bright colors and the cool black and white papers. Made it fun to combine all the elements.
I did lots of layering for this page. I love to layer! The smaller papers are actually from the 6x6 paper pad for this collection.
Before I started to layer, I put down some gesso and then used the packing technique to spread on some Color Shine. Then, I splattered some of the mist around too. After it dried, I took to the sewing machine and did some stitching along the sun rays. Wow! When did I get so mixed media, hey???
I used several cut files from Just Nick Studio too. I will link you up to those below.
Thanks for swinging by today and letting me share this FOR FUN page! I love being able to create something without any guidelines or assignments looming. Yay for therapy!
