Chasing Vines by Beth Moore

For the past two months, I have had a sneak peek at Beth Moore's new book called Chasing Vines. I will begin by saying she is one of my favorite Bible teachers. The woman knows her Bible and, I truly believe, God speaks through her in powerful ways. I am so thankful for her obedience and faith and courage to walk in her calling. When I heard about this new book from her, I knew it would be on my shelf. When she was looking for a launch team, I applied to that immediately. I love cheering on people and, it has been fun helping promote her book.

The premise of the book is to remind you that you matter to God and He wants you to flourish. This is not a prosperity gospel. This is a Biblically-sound SOUL gospel. Beth takes us on a journey and shares what she has learned about vineyards and how the Bible is sprinkled with comparisons and imagery related to the vine. She shows us how intentional God is with us in caring for us. Even when it hurts and is difficult to understand.

Each page had words that seemed to grab me. I knew it was the Holy Spirit speaking and reminding me WHO I belong to and WHO cares for me so deeply and intentionally. It was both a reminder and fresh words to say that yes, Melissa, you matter to God. He sees you. He knows each hair on that head of yours and He loves you so much. There is hurt in this world. There is pain and war and people who will betray you or sling hurtful words at you but, God is bigger and has conquered it all. His name is above every other name. He is greater than any thing in this world and He. Loves. You.

Beth shows us what intimacy with Jesus can look like. What it should look like and then, what happens because of it. I don't know if it's because I've watched enough of her videos but, I just love that I hear her voice as I read. Her insightful thoughts that are challenging, convicting and filled with wisdom ooze off the page in her lovely southern drawl.

The quote above is my favorite from the whole entire book. I mean, there are a LOT of good quotes but, this one I just stared at it. We have been intentionally planted. Just as the vines were planted intentionally so they would flourish and grow, so are we intentionally placed on this earth. God has a purpose for each one of us.

Beth takes us on a journey that reminds us how much we matter to God. His care for us is so pure, detailed and unconditional. I love the parallel between vineyards and how purposefully God has planted us. Nothing is by chance or coincidence. Everything is with careful attention to detail. Beth has a way of expressing this amazing truth through her gift of writing and love for the Bible.

This is a must read for sure!

You can find the book in your local retailer and here are some places online as well.
